“Music Does Miracles” – a charity concert by SIMONE KERMES at the Baltic Philharmonic Hall on 17 December 2014, 19:00 hours. Simone Kermes is the world-famous opera singer from Germany. The artist, a dramatic coloratura soprano hailed Lady Gaga of the opera, won the prestigious title of the Singer of the Year awarded by the Echo Klassik journal. The evening programme will include opera arias by Verdi, Rossini, Haendel, Donizetti, and Porpora. The artist will be accompanied by the musicians of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Hall under the direction of Krzysztof Sowiński. The entire profit earned on the concert will be donated in aid of the patients of the Department of Surgery and Urology for Children and Adolescents, Medical University of Gdańsk, headed by the concert initiator, Prof. Piotr Czauderna “We are planning to purchase the complete visual track equipment for modern 3D surgeries on children. The equipment enables miniinvasive surgical treatment of carcinogenic changes and inborn defects. The cost of the set is about PLN 400,000.-. Our clinic treats children of all ages, from day 1 up to 18 years. We stand up to the challenge of the gravest surgical cases which other Polish and even foreign establishments consider too daring to treat. We do 2500 surgeries a year, including more than 400 video surgical operations.”
